Bellevue
Kitchen
This was once a "dream kitchen of 1958" - painted plywood cabinets, Formica
counter, vinyl flooring - was more of a nightmare. While a more recent touchup
by a previous owner had slightly improve the kitchen's look, it did nothing
to enhance the room's functionality.
We transformed the small, cramped, dated workspace into anew, fully functioning and beautifully appointed kitchen. We removed her tired Formica counter tops, installed attractive alder cabinetry, granite counter tops, a tumbled-marble back splash and new stainless steel appliances.
We also added an eating area with barstools and granite counter tops. Standard thin moldings and baseboards were replaced with glossy, wide Colonial-style ones, and the doors replaced with more aesthetic versions. They also took out the old vinyl kitchen flooring and installed cork floors instead.
The remodeling didn't stop, we set about pumping up the view, removing a wall between the kitchen and formal dining room, and another between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen's cabinets and counters were also extended into the dining room to make a large serving area for parties.
